Bajaj Auto launches" new Pulsar 220".

NEW DELHI:-The country's second largest two-wheeler maker, Bajaj Auto, on Tuesday launched an advanced version of its flagship bike Pulsar, priced at Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

"We have been continuously evolving our Pulsar range to provide our customers state-of-the-art product with unmatched performance and technology. The latest addition to the Bajaj Pulsar family is the Bajaj Pulsar 220cc DTS FI. This macho yet sleek looking bike gives “Definitely Male” an entirely new meaning. The bike has an ergonomic design which makes it very easy to maneuver on the Indian roads with ease.the smooth acceleration is primarily due to the fuel injected engine ,designed perfectecly.

At the moment Bajaj is keeping its production volume a bit low, even though there are huge waiting lists at the moment. The new 2009 edition of Pulsar 220 has further raised the bar in the performance segment by becoming India's fastest production bike," said Bajaj Auto Ltd, CEO (two-wheelers), S Sridhar.

Since the last fiscal, the sales of the company have been declining. Its total two-wheeler sales during May in 2009 fell 8.42 per cent at 1,65,697 units over the same month in 2008.

Most of you might be unaware of DTS-FI technology. It is like the DTS-I, introduced by Bajaj Auto but has a different way of working.

Thus, the combustion is highly efficient that gives excellent mileage. The Pulsar DTS-FI also gets the credit for being the first two-wheeler in India to employ a hydraulically actuated 230 mm rear disc brake. For 2008 to 2009, the total two-wheeler sales of the Pune-based firm plummeted by 11.18 per cent at 19,19,582 units as against 21,61,095 units in the previous fiscal.
